Approximately 1,000 feet of clear Twelve Mile Creek runs through the property, creating a natural playground just beyond the cabin. Spend the day swimming, floating, skipping rocks, exploring the gravel bars, or finding a quiet spot beside the water.
There is no schedule here. Follow the trail through the woods, watch for wildlife, settle in beside the creek, or simply enjoy having this peaceful stretch of the Ozarks to yourself.
THE CREEK
Twelve Mile Creek is the heart of the property. Its clear water, natural swimming hole, and private gravel bar make it the perfect place to cool off on a warm afternoon.
Bring a chair and a book, pack a creekside picnic, or take the inflatable kayak out for a leisurely float. Younger explorers can search for tadpoles, turtles, minnows, and other creek creatures while everyone else relaxes and listens to the water.
Creek conditions naturally change with the weather and seasons, making every visit a little different.
YOUR PRIVATE GRAVEL BAR
The extra-wide gravel bar offers plenty of room to spread out, set up chairs, enjoy a picnic, or gather around a creekside campfire. Surrounded by trees with the water flowing alongside it, it’s an ideal spot for long afternoons and relaxed evenings outdoors.
GATHER AROUND THE FIRE
As evening settles in, gather around the fire pit for s’mores, stories, and a sky full of stars. With little surrounding light, clear nights can feel especially magical here.
It is the perfect way to end a day spent swimming, hiking, and exploring.
A PLACE SHAPED BY NATURE
Twelve-Mile Cabin is a true nature getaway. The property is wooded, the terrain is natural, and wildlife and insects are part of the experience. Creek depth and flow can change depending on recent weather, so guests should always use care around the water.
The final stretch of the drive is gravel, and an AWD or 4WD vehicle is needed. We recommend bringing sturdy shoes, water shoes, insect repellent, and clothing that can handle a little outdoor adventure.
